Is used to talk about actions, events or processes when the action, event or processes is seen more important than the agent.

Some verbs can be either intransitive or transitive, allowing us to focus on either the person or thing performing the action, or the person or thing affected by the action. Some transitive verbs don't need an object when the meaning is clear from the context. After some verbs we usually add a complement which is an adverb or prepositional phrase. We have the exact words of the speaker and im reported speech we give the same meaning but with a different form to indicate that the words have been reported indirectly by another speaker. When the reported speech is introduced by a verb in the past tenses, the following changes take place. Verbs in the direct speech are changed into their corresponding past tense.
