Levels of Organization in the Body
1. Cells:The smallest living unit in the body.
Ex. neuron (nerve cell), hepatocyte (liver cell).
2. Tissues: A group of cells with similar structure and function.
The four types of tissue are: epithelial (skin) tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nerve tissue.
3. Organs: They are structures that consist of two or more types of tissues that work together to do the same job.
Ex. heart, brain.
4. A group of organs that contribute to specific functions within the body.
Ex. respiratory system.
